From the North:

The M5 and the A30 meet at Exeter. If you are on the A30 join the M5 South. This route takes you in to the beautiful countryside behind Dawlish Warren. It is a scenic route and will save you time in the height of the summer when the traffic queues build up though the narrow high street in Starcross. Click here for detailed map

  • Remain on the M5 at Exeter continue towards Plymouth, Torquay and Newton Abbot. (A380)
  • After passing the A30 slip road and 'Partridge Cycles' keep in the left hand or middle lane and take the left hand split A380 to Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and Torquay.
  • Climb up the steep hill and before the brow of the hill get into the left hand lane.
  • Take the next exit, 'Great Haldon', before the bridge. At the T junction turn left.
  • Follow signs to Starcross & Kenton. Continue along this road through the forest until you come to a T junction. Turn Left.
  • Make your way down the hill, enjoy the views, and follow this road for about 4 miles. The road flattens out for a while and you will come to a T junction opposite Oake Meadow Golf Course. Turn Right.
  • At the next T Junction turn right and after a few yards immediately turn left into Cockwood Harbour.
  • This harbour road is narrow in parts and two cars cannot pass. Particularly on the first corner. Look out now for buses and lorries trying to get around the harbour as there is not enough room for you both. When the coast is clear make it round the harbour and continue on this road for three-quarters of a mile. Hazelwood Park is on your right hand side.
